Max & Intro - ‘Beogradska Devojka’

This is a one off Yugoslavian 7” from 1985 that sounds like minimal synth, new wave, synth pop, new beat, italo, euro house, techno and ‘Stylo’ by Gorillaz all at once.

‘Beogradska Devojka’ translates as ‘Belgrade Girl’. And it appears in a great looking ‘Christiane F’ type film called ‘Pejzazi u Magli’ about a girl in Belgrade and her friends doing heroin in the mid-eighties. The girl was played by a young actress named Anamarija Petricevic, I wonder what happened to her?

See the song and Anamarija in the clip below:

Dario dell’Aere - ‘Eagles In The Night’

I go ‘round, the world, the sea, the ocean
I see a lot of lands that you could never see
I go ‘round and if you wanna follow
You must leave your horse and to take apart your heart

Oh, I will become an eagle that flies only in the night
And you will become an eagle going with me

You and I will conquer lakes and mountains
We’ll build a big empire where you and I will reign

You and I will forget our past life
Will be not any drops. you’ll never cry for me…

Italo Disco; a cousin of Coldwave with more kitsch and less Joy Division. This track has the same romance and stately prescence that I love about the cold stuff but is archly glamourous too (check the outfit). Enjoy!
